EMDR Intensives in Denver and Golden
An EMDR intensive condenses the work of weeks or months of traditional therapy into a focused block of time, usually a half day, a full day, or several consecutive days.
Instead of meeting for 50 minutes once a week, you and your therapist have the space to go deeper, stay with the work, and reach resolution without stopping just as things start to move.

At Denver Wellness Counseling, our EMDR intensives are offered at our Golden and LoHi offices and are led by Stephanie Meisner, MSW, LCSW, who has advanced EMDR training.
Why choose an intensive?
Intensives offer real advantages. Many people find that weekly sessions spend much of their time getting oriented and then closing down again; an intensive keeps that momentum going, so more of your time goes toward actual reprocessing.
You can make meaningful progress on a specific memory, pattern, or life event in days rather than months, and many clients find the experience more efficient and more contained.
Each intensive is carefully structured with preparation beforehand, built-in breaks, grounding, and integration support afterward, so you are never rushed or left on your own.

Who EMDR Intensives are for
EMDR intensives can be a strong fit for adults working through:
Trauma or PTSD
A single distressing event, such as an accident or medical experience
Long-standing patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or burnout
They are especially well suited to:
Busy professionals and high performers who struggle to commit to weekly therapy
People who feel stuck after years of talk therapy
Clients of other therapists who want focused EMDR work alongside their ongoing care
Intensives are not right for everyone. Before scheduling, we complete a thorough consultation to make sure an intensive is safe, appropriate, and well timed for you.
“Stephanie is an amazingly skilled EMDR therapist who has many techniques other than just the traditional focus shifting the emotions associated with childhood memories to a neutral emotional state.”
